Importância da Vitamina D

A Vitamina D encontra-se em muitas fontes de alimentação como o peixe, os ovos, leite enriquecido e óleo de fígado de bacalhau. O sol contribui também significativamente para a produção diária de vitamina D, e pensa-se que apenas 10 minutos de exposição são suficientes para prevenir deficiências.

This year we are honored with the presence of Prof. Jeff S. Volek, Ph.D., R.D., F.A.C.N., Associate Professor, University of Connecticut, Neag School of Education. Professor Volek is a founding member of the Nutrition and Metabolism society and actively teaches in the department of kinesiology at the University of Connecticut. His research focuses on how the body adapts to low carbohydrate diets, with emphasis on metabolic syndrome, diabetes, inflammation and cardiovascular disease. He is a regular contributor and advisor to Men`s Health and is a coauthor of The Testosterone Advantage Plan and the TNT Diet as well as science advisory board member of Atkins.
